third trimester must haves

Ah, third trimester. That magical time in your pregnancy when time seems to fly by and simultaneously drag on for eternity. In one sense you're trying to enjoy the last days of peace and quiet before your life turns to chaos by adding a baby to the mix. In a stronger sense, you're so ready to meet your little one and be done with pregnancy and the discomforts that go along with the third trimester.

If your pregnancy is like mine, at this point you're swollen, your joints are aching, you can only eat a few bites of food at a time, the heartburn is raging, and you're exhausted but having trouble sleeping at the same time. Here is what is keeping me relatively comfortable during the third trimester.

THIRD TRIMESTER MUST HAVES

Gap Pure Body Maternity Tanks

I know I've mentioned these before on the blog, but I seriously live in these during my third trimester. I have a couple in each color so I can rotate them. They're comfortable enough to sleep in, easy to layer, and are one of the few things that are somewhat flattering in the watermelon-under-your-shirt phase.

Yeti Tumbler

I've been carrying this giant tumbler with me wherever I go lately. Here in Florida, the temperature has been in the 80s lately, which doesn't help the third trimester swelling situation. The Yeti is the best water bottle I've found for keeping my drinks ice cold in the heat, and bonus - it carries 30 ounces of water! I try to drink 3 or 4 of these every day to stay hydrated and stave off the headaches, Braxton Hicks contractions, and swelling.

Exercise Ball

Time to break this out of storage! Exercise balls are great for keeping your core strong during pregnancy, plus they feel great on your hips and back, and help your posture! I've even heard they can help your baby move into position in the end stages of pregnancy. I remember bouncing on mine endlessly in the last few weeks of my second pregnancy, then using it postpartum to rock and gently bounce baby to sleep!

Teva Sandals

Long walks have been my only form of exercise this pregnancy, and these sandals provide amazing support and are comfortable in the Florida heat. They are the best investment I've made in a long time, and I use them every single day. Next, I'd like to add a dressier pair of Tevas, like these or these, to my collection.

Tums

Pretty self-explanatory, but the heartburn has been out of control during this stage of pregnancy. The tropical smoothies flavors are my favorite! You're going to want a gallon.

Fiber Supplement

This is one product I absolutely cannot live without. Ladies who are, or have been, pregnant, you know what I'm talking about! 1 scoop of this every morning in my shake or smoothie helps tremendously. The kind I use contains both pre and probiotics, is flavorless, and dissolves perfectly.

Tarte Maracujá Creaseless Concealer

Good sleep isn't a guarantee in the last few weeks of pregnancy, so I'm loving the full coverage this concealer provides for my under eye circles. It's a little more than I normally spend on makeup, but it has been worth every penny, and one tube lasts forever. I will definitely continue to use this after the baby comes, too, when I'm up nursing at all hours of the night.

Old Navy Yoga Shorts

I bought these in black, and I change into them the second I get home every day. I mostly use them for lounging around the house, but they would be perfect for a prenatal workout, too! I almost wish I had purchased a second pair so I could rotate them while one is in the wash.

Pregnancy Pillow

I made it through an entire 4 season series on Netflix because of middle-of-the-night or early morning wake-ups during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. Every position is uncomfortable, and rolling over feels like a gigantic undertaking. Pregnancy pillows help make everything a little less...miserable.

Maternity Leggings

Because no one wants to wear pants when your belly is this big. Also, the support feels amazing.

THE MOST AMAZING MATERNITY LEGGINGS

Belli Facial Moisturizer

This pregnancy-safe moisturizer smells amazing and is super soothing on your skin. It has vitamin c and grapeseed oil, and smells refreshing. When you're feeling like a whale during the 3rd trimester, it's nice to at least feel like your skin looks good!
