I think most moms will agree that one of the most amazing parts of having children is watching the love of your life become a dad. When he holds your newborn baby for the first time, you think your heart is going to burst out of your chest.
Over time, your children come to depend on their dad as the one who will wrestle with them the moment he gets home from work, the one who will rile them up before bed as mom watches disapprovingly (but secretly loves seeing them giggle together), and the one who will read them one more bedtime story. He's their hero, and their eyes light up when he walks through the door at the end of the day. They know quality time with him is precious.
With two teachers in the family, life can get pretty hectic during the school year. Because of that, we make sure to stretch our weekends to the fullest. Often that means Justin takes the kids while I run errands, but sometimes we all get the chance to get out of the house and have some adventures! At 9 months pregnant, I am definitely grateful to have Justin along when we go to the park so he can do the bulk of the heavy lifting on the playground, chasing kids, and carrying them around.
My husband gives his all in so many different roles throughout the day. He's a mentor, an educator, a coach, and a husband, and I know firsthand how stressful and long his days can be. But somehow when it's time for him to step into the role of Dad, he's got all the energy in the world. And looks good doing it!
